Hello from Pauls Valley

Hi,

I hope I'm not an interloper here, I'm not a Hallett Corner Worker, but I could be.

My name is Joe Freeland from Pauls Valley. I've been usually working grid with Vicki at the SCCA races for about 3 - 4 years. In that time, I've also worked corners at the SCCA and CVAR events. Last year I purchased a MINI Cooper S (red/black) and have done 3 days of HST. Many of you would know me if you saw me, but probably don't know my name. I've worked corners with Eve and Ray before, and Connie knows me pretty well.

I haven't made a HST this year, but I plan to be there on the 24th. I'm even set up to run a couple of ride/drive sessions in a donated Spec Miata. I've been thinking about buying an inexpensive IT car, taking Shayne's school and running in COMMA, but that's still up in the air. Several have suggested getting the SM instead, which is where I'm leaning right now.

Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself. You guys do a great job, I hope to get to know you better in the years to come. I'm hoping that maybe I can sneak down to a corner and volunteer to help when I'm between sessions. I learn something new every time I work a corner.

Have a good weekend.

Joe

Hey Joe,
No Interlopers here. Welcome to the forum. Come on out to most of the corners anytime and your welcome. COMMA is not as regimented as SCCA and we have more fun... come and get acquainted, I work at Sta. 10 up by the inside gate.  (Under the shade tree in the Summer).
Drop by.

Thanks Tim,

I'll look you up next time I'm at Hallett. I think I may have already met you. Do you drive this really sharp looking black Kia, or is it a Hyundai?

Thanks,

Joe

Yup, It's a 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT - 36 MPG is the best part.  Thanks for saying "hey" at the track last weekend...great weather huh?

Yes, a great weekend for me is when I have fun, and I can drive the MINI home. Both were accomplished last weekend.

Plus, I got to visit with Eddie Hill (a Drag Racing Legend) for about 10 minutes at the gate. Eddie does HST in an Aerial Atom. He's a great guy.
